Sentinel Offender Services is the Court's Electronic Home Monitoring provider. Electronic Home Monitoring is part of the Court's Alternatives to Confinement project that provides graduated sentencing options. The program supervises an individual's confinement to their home unless they are allowed to participate in Court authorized activities. Participants are fitted with a device that allows them to be monitored via a home-based reporting unit that reports their activities via their home telephone line. Depending on the offense, participants may also be issued a Breath Alcohol Testing unit that randomly tests the participant for alcohol consumption at their residence
Sentinel services in the Justice Center include:
- Participant enrollment onto the Electronic Home Monitoring program and provision of all monitoring equipment
- Working with participants to establish daily schedules that accommodate work, treatment, counseling, and medical obligations
- Meeting weekly with participants to verify all activities
- Offering pre-trial electronic monitoring and working closely with Court officials to ensure program compliance
Sentinel is located on the 8th Floor of the Seattle Justice Center.
