Electronic Monitoring

Electronic monitoring is an alternative to jail, ordered by a judge, that provides graduated sentencing options. Monitoring may include confinement to an individual's residence and/or alcohol or other substance use monitoring pretrial or post-conviction during a probationary period.

Sentinel is Seattle Municipal Court's electronic monitoring provider and have staff located on the 8th floor of the courthouse.

Monitoring Services Provided at the Courthouse

  • Enrollment in the electronic monitoring program, including access to all required monitoring equipment.
  • Probation Counselors will work with individuals to establish daily schedules that accommodate work, treatment, counseling, and medical obligations.
  • Probation Counselors meet with participants to verify activities.
