At Seattle Animal Shelter, we are committed to providing the highest level of services possible to citizens and animals. We realize that timely and efficient customer service is important to you and is vital to the success of this organization.

The Seattle Animal Shelter management team is interested in your recent experiences with Seattle Animal Shelter. Your comments will direct our ongoing efforts to improve the way in which we serve you and the animals.

  • Animal Care
    Hours: Monday - Sunday 12 noon - 6 pm

    • Assists citizens in locating/redeeming lost pets
    • Animal adoption services
    • Humanely euthanizes and disposes of ill, aged, animals
    • Provide care and sheltering for stray, injured, impounded animals detained at the animal shelter

  • Enforcement
    Hours: Monday - Sunday 7:10 am - 8:30 pm

    • Resolve neighborhood animal nuisance complaints
    • Enforce animal shelter code in parks and neighborhoods
    • Provide support to Police, Fire, Health and related agencies
    • Public education
    • Respond to stray, injured, vicious, dangerous, deceased animal complaints

  • Pet Licensing
    Hours: Monday - Sunday 9 am - 6pm

    • Process and issue cat, dog and potbelly pig licenses
    • Prepares purchase requisitions for equipment and supplies
    • Prepares vouchers for payment of bills
    • Coordinates license sales at multiple off-site locations

  • Spay/Neuter Clinic
    Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm

    • Implants microchips for animals sterilized at the clinic
    • Low cost, high quality sterilization services for dogs/cats
    • Early spay/neuter program for dogs and cats adopted at animal shelter
    • Tests adopted cats for feline leukemia prior to release to new owners

  • Volunteer Programs and Fundraising
    Hours: Open 7 Days a week, 9 am - 8:30 pm

    • Raise money for veterinary care for sick, injured and abused animals
    • Develop programs to meet the needs of the animals
    • Enrich the animals experience while here
    • Orient and train hundreds of volunteers each year
    • Solicit for foster homes for homeless animals
    • Raise public awareness through all forms of media
