The Seattle Animal Shelter is located in the Interbay neighborhood of Seattle.

Request service or get information

Seattle Animal Control serves residents within the Seattle city limits. You may review our limited list of agencies serving surrounding areas to find your local animal services. You may also call your local 311 directory, or police non-emergency number and ask for animal services.

Requests for general information, as well as complaints such as animal noise, deceased animals, and dogs off-leash in Seattle parks, may be submitted online using the service request form. Select Parks and Recreation Maintenance. This system is available 24/7 for your convenience, and is checked by our call center pending emergency calls.

The online service request system should not be used for emergency or time-sensitive complaints, including animal bites, abuse, animal welfare concerns, and injured or sick animals. For questions or complaints of this nature, please call our office directly at (206) 386-7387 during business hours.

Stray pickup and drop off is available 7 days a week, excluding holidays; click here to review our hours.

If you have lost an animal, you are required to visit the shelter in person to view the animals in our care and fill out a lost report. Stray animals brought to the shelter are also uploaded to our website in real-time; click here to see Found Pets at the Shelter. If you believe your animal is here at the shelter, please come in during shelter hours to speak with an animal care officer. If you are unable to come in, or have questions about fees, please call 206-386-4294 and leave a voicemail with your name, telephone number, and the best time to reach you; if you know the animal's record number (an eight digit number that starts with "A") please include this in your message as well.
