Youth Art Contest

OPA is now accepting art submissions for our third annual art contest! The winner will have their art featured on the cover of OPA's 2025 Annual Report. This year’s theme is "Police and community working together to create a better Seattle."

  • First-prize winner receives:
    • Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet with Stylus Pen or a prize of similar value.
    • And will be featured in OPA’s annual report and monthly newsletter!
  • Runners-up may also be showcased in OPA’s annual report, monthly newsletter, social media, and community outreach materials.
  • The contest is open to elementary, middle, and high school students living or attending school in Seattle, ages 18 years and under.
  • Contest requires a signed permission slip by parent or guardian approval to participate. If age 18, you may sign for yourself. 
  • Artwork must be original and will be voted on based on how the art is aligned with the theme. Inappropriate or nonresponsive submissions will be disqualified.  While the use of generative AI or similar software will not necessarily disqualify a submission, submissions will be evaluated based in part on originality. The use of Generative AI could potentially enhance or detract from OPA’s assessment of the submission’s originality, skill, or other subjective factors.
  • Submissions must be no larger than 8.5x11 inches and scanned as hi-resolution JPEG, PNG, or PDF files.
  • Submitting art in the contest grants OPA artwork/copyright in full; artwork will be publicly attributed to the artist.
  • Artwork will be unaltered and publicly attributed to the artist.

2025 Art Contest Winner

The winner, E. Fernandez, age 17 at the time of submission, is a talented artist from Franklin High School, whose submission is featured on the cover of the 2024 Annual Report.
