Case Data

While OPA does not share information about open cases, there are a few ways to get case data for cases that have been closed:

Closed Case Summaries
If you know the OPA case number, you can enter it in the tracker on the Closed Case Summary page.  If you don’t have the case number, you can email opamediainquiries@seattle.gov to ask for it.

Public Disclosure Requests
OPA can’t share personal or identifying information about the person who filed a complaint. This also includes details about the SPD employee, their discipline history, or whether they are on leave. If you want more information than what’s in the Closed Case Summaries, you can submit a Public Disclosure Request.  There may be fees. Click here to see the city’s fee schedule.

Disciplinary Appeals
Track open appeals by SPD officers.

Overturned Findings
Learn about OPA case findings that the Chief of Police reversed.
