The City of Seattle Voluntary Deferred Compensation Plan is a 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan and Trust available to City officers and any person identified as an employee under the Seattle Municipal Code. This plan allows employees to invest in their future by building a retirement savings account using payroll deductions that go into investments they select from the diverse fund lineup selected by the City.

Employees in an exempt position or a permanent non-exempt position, may be eligible for a defined benefit plan. Refer to the Pension links on the page for more information.

Interested in Enrolling? All current City employees (regardless of benefits eligibility) can enroll in the Plan. Employees can enroll starting with as little as $10 per paycheck. Get started with these resources:

Employees may access their account information online at www.cityofseattledeferredcomp.com. Nationwide representatives can be reached at (855) 550-1757. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Saturday, 6 a.m. - 3 p.m PT. Better late than never! Learn about our special-catch up options for those 50+. Find out if you are eligible for higher contributions to the deferred comp plan. This interactive demonstration will discuss the "age 50” catch-up and “special” catch-up options and how you can start taking advantage of it today!
