Patrol officers are the most visible representatives of the Police Department. A first responders, they are vital to public safety. But the Seattle Police Department provides a diverse range of services:
- 9-1-1 - handles all emergency calls in Seattle for police, fire and medical
- Records - keeps all crime records and police reports
- Parking Enforcement - includes traffic control
- Specialty Units - Such as SWAT, Canine (K-9)
- Investigations - Such as homicide, CSI, burglary, robbery
- Harbor Patrol - protects the waterways of Seattle
- Victim Support Team - Volunteers for Domestic Violence Victim support
