Police WORK

Patrol officers are the most visible representatives of the Police Department. A first responders, they are vital to public safety. But the Seattle Police Department provides a diverse range of services:

  • 9-1-1 - handles all emergency calls in Seattle for police, fire and medical
  • Records - keeps all crime records and police reports
  • Parking Enforcement - includes traffic control
  • Specialty Units - Such as SWAT, Canine (K-9)
  • Investigations - Such as homicide, CSI, burglary, robbery
  • Harbor Patrol - protects the waterways of Seattle
  • Victim Support Team - Volunteers for Domestic Violence Victim support

Patrol Officers work out of one of five Precincts across the city.

COMMUNITY POLICE ACADEMY
