What is an Environmental Impact Statement?

An EIS provides information about potential environmental impacts and mitigating measures from a proposal to inform the decision-making process. The following documents provide information from the scoping stage, draft version, and final version.

Neighborhood Residential Clean Up SEPA Materials

On October 26, 2026, we published a SEPA checklist and a Determination of Non-significance for Neighborhood Residential Clean Up legislation. These documents contain information on the potential environmental impact of the proposal. This proposed legislation would clarify regulations, make edits to ensure consistent implementation, and address errors related to recently passed Permanent State Zoning Compliance legislation (Ordinance 127376) that updated standards for Neighborhood Residential zones and made other changes to comply with various state laws. Comprehensive Plan EIS Addendum (November 2025)

Final EIS Adoption and Addendum (May 2025)

Adoption of the Final EIS (FEIS) and Addendum is available for public review.

The FEIS for the One Seattle Plan was released on January 30, 2025. The FEIS responds to comments on the Draft EIS and analyzes the potential impacts of a Preferred Alternative. A 14-day appeal period began on January 30 and ended on February 13. Six appeals to the FEIS were filed in February and they were all dismissed by the Hearing Examiner on April 11, 2025.
