Public Counters Now Open

Customer Service Counters in Seattle Municipal Tower, City Hall and Neighborhood Customer Service Centers are now open. 

Face coverings are optional in City facilities.

Seattle City Light / Seattle Public Utilities Customer Service Counter

Neighborhood Customer Service Centers

No passport application processing after 4 p.m.

Ballard Customer Service Center 
Tuesday - Friday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Central Customer Service Center 
Tuesday - Friday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Lake City Customer Service Center 
Tuesday - Saturday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Southeast Customer Service Center 
Monday - Saturday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

University Customer Service Center 
Tuesday - Saturday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Southwest Customer Service Center
Monday - Friday; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

You can still reach us via phone, online and e-mail and make online payments.


Payments for Seattle City Light and Seattle Public Utilities can also be made:

  • Online at seattle.gov/light/paymybill
  • Or, by mailing or dropping a check or money order to drop boxes at the City's Customer Service Centers outside of downtown Seattle. Locations can be found at www.seattle.gov/customer-service-centers

Money orders are available free of charge at any Wells Fargo branch in Seattle city limits. Include the following information with your check or money order when depositing it at a drop box location:

  • Your name and contact information, so we can reach you if there are questions.
  • The bill or invoice you received OR
  • The account number or invoice number you are paying.
  • If you do not have an account number or invoice number, please provide the department contact, name and/or phone you are working with.

Your payment will be processed as soon as possible.Pet licenses can be purchased at: seattle.gov/animal-shelter/license

Business Licenses and Tax Payments
We encourage businesses to use the online portal, FileLocal, to get licensed, file tax returns and make tax payments while we are temporarily closed for in-person assistance.  Please see the guidelines for tax filing extensions offered as relief to small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you have questions, please email tax@seattle.gov and a member of our team will answer you.
