Request Public Records from the Legislative Department

The Legislative Department is Seattle City Council, Council staff, and the Office of the City Clerk.

Tip: Many of our records are available online and through research assistance without submitting a Public Disclosure Request. See Online Records and Research Assistance below.

  1. Open City Public Records Request Center
  2. Select Submit a Public Records Request

    Tip: it's the first blue rectangle in the center of the page
  3. For Select an Agency, choose Legislative Branch
  4. Follow the on-screen directions to complete your request

When Requesting a List of Names

If you are requesting a list of names, such as a public comment sign-in sheet from a Council or committee meeting, please fill out, sign, and return this Declaration to your point of contact or to:

Records held by the Seattle Municipal Archives are open to the public and available for research during business hours.
