About the East Precinct LOCATION AND BOUNDARIES OF THE EAST PRECINCT The East Precinct serves a population of approx. 98,000 and covers eight square miles. The boundaries are Lake Union to I-5 on the west, Lake Washington on the east, the Ship Canal on the north, and I-90 on the south. Precinct personnel respond to 9-1-1 calls for emergency services, they also perform on view police enforcement throughout the precinct and support emphasis in identified areas assigned by their Watch Commander under the oversight of the Precinct Captain. The East Precinct Community Police and Anti-Crime Teams are specifically assigned to work on solutions to on going and often long standing neighborhood concerns and needs through direct interaction with the community and specialized details.
