Captain Martin Rivera

Captain Rivera has served the Seattle Police Department for approximately 22 years and is currently the Commander of the Southwest Precinct.


Promoted to Captain in 2021 and assigned to Duty Captain prior to SW Precinct Commander. Before his current assignment, Rivera served in a variety of positions across the city, including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Patrol acting Sergeant and Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Field Training Sergeant, Patrol Acting Lieutenant and Patrol Watch Lieutenant in the East, North and West Precincts, Force Review Board member, Commander of the Crisis Response unit and Collaborative Policing Bureau.
