Precinct News

3.31.2008
On 3/31/2008, officers responded to a burglary in progress call on Alki Av SW. This address is a condo complex with a fenced outdoor parking garage. Officers scaled the fence and saw two males frantically scaling the fence to exit on the other side of the garage. Once the suspects had scaled the fence, they started to run and stopped when they saw the officers moving toward them. The suspects were ordered to the ground. Suspect 1 went to the ground but Suspect 2 turned and sprinted northbound. Additional officers placed Suspect 1 into handcuffs and officers chased Suspect 2 into the woods behind the complex. An area check was conducted with negative results. Suspect 1 gave information on Suspect 2 and stated he might be a transient. Suspect 1 was booked into KCJ for Investigation of Burglary.

3.17.2008
On 3-17-08, officers responded to a burglary in progress at 4600 block of SW Austin, where a neighbor observed a suspect smash a window and a white SUV parked behind the residence being broken into. Responding officers arrived and found the SUV has fled just seconds earlier. The witness gave a license plate number an extensive search in the area failed to locate the vehicle that fled with at least two Asian suspects. About 45 minutes later an officer saw a white SUV with similar license, with several subjects aboard on 35 SW, heading for the bridge. The suspects then began to drive around as if trying to loose the officer. The vehicle was stopped at 13 SW and Henderson and three suspects fled on foot. Within minutes, all three suspects were located in the area and were taken into custody without further incidence. Further investigation revealed that at least one of the suspects was also involved in the car prowl turned assault in Renton where one of the suspect took several shots at a security guard. The shooter of that incident was one of our burglary suspects. This suspect has been confirmed by Renton PD to be the shooting suspect.
