SCHEDULE
Planning:Spring-Early Fall 2003
Design:Fall 2003
Construction:Dec 2004 thru March
2005
Completion:In April 2005
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Construction resulted in the demolition of all existing structures
except for a portion of the planter wall running along the adjacent
property to the south and the historic bank entrance. New festive
paving was installed with a cluster of five trees and landscaping.
The Pro Parks Levy states, "Make improvements to park including
addressing the concrete wall and other park features." Parks met
with the North Neighborhoods Stewardship Group, Kiwanis, Chamber
of Commerce and Rotary to solicit ideas about improving the park.
Ideas included: reducing or removing the wall along NE 123rd St,
replacing the landscaping with plants that allow more visibility
into the site; adding ground level landscaping and trees for shade;
and retaining the entry arch.
