The building is complete and features 2 multi-purpose rooms, 2 ADA compatible restrooms, small food prep area, storage space, sound system and beautiful fold out mirrors for dance classes.

Dakota Place Park building will be operated as an extension of the Hiawatha Community Center for community programming and public rental space.

Pro Parks Levy Reserve Fund $500,000 contribution and Associated Recreation Council $180,000 contribution for a total of $680,000.

This community initiated project created a new neighborhood gathering space at the California Substation. The Friends of Dakota Place Park are instrumental in this development.

This phase will complete the renovation of the existing designated landmark City Light Substation Building for use as an extension of the Hiawatha Community Center.
