Pedestrian Bridge Closure
January 20, 2010 - February 10, 2010
Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Seattle Department of Transportation
are working together to clean and paint the Carkeek Park Pedestrian
Bridge over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks on
the west side of Carkeek Park.
Starting Wednesday, January 20, 2010 and continuing through February
10, 2010, the bridge will be closed and covered for painting.
This bridge is used to access the beach at Carkeek Park.
This cleaning and painting project is one of five projects that
Seattle Department of Transportation is working on over the next
two months.

Years of hard work by neighbors and volunteers have brought salmon
back to Pipers Creek in Carkeek Park.
About the Environmental Learning Center
The
Carkeek Park Environmental Learning Center (ELC) has been built using
sustainable practices to provide additional space for environmental
education and stewardship activities and to create additional community
gathering/meeting space.
