ABOUT THE POOL

We are one of eight indoor pools operated by Seattle Parks and Recreation. Located in on the shores of Green Lake, we offer a wide array of aquatics programs for all ages.

Features

  • Pool size: 25 yard/6 lane
  • 1m diving board
  • Sauna
  • 1 family changing room
  • Pool Temperature: 85 degrees

Lesson programs include:

Tot lessons (6 months to 4 years of age), kinder lessons, youth lessons, youth competitive stroke lessons, adult and senior adult lessons, and personal lessons.

Exercise classes include:

Shallow water aerobics, deep water aerobics, "Swimstrong" workouts

We also offer

family swim, public swim, and lap swim times.

* You are welcome to enjoy this facility. Please wear appropriate swimwear. If you feel you need an individual accommodation, we invite you to speak with the Pool Coordinator or the Swim Beach Manager.


Deep Water Swim Test

To ensure the safety of children and youth using our pools, in order for swimmers younger than 18 to go into the deep end, Seattle Parks and Recreation requires a swim test. The test consists of swimming two widths of the pool. While crawl stroke is preferred, alternate methods of swimming can be acceptable if the child is swimming with the body in a prone position and is making good forward progress. For additional safety, the test may be more stringent if the pool is really crowded. Final determination is based on the judgment of the lifeguard on duty.

Alternately, the child can take the swim test using a personal flotation device (life jacket). Children who pass this modified test are allowed in the deep using a life jacket.

SKWIM

Enjoy a great game that uses team spirit and competitive edge. SKWIM is fun for all ages and swimming levels. Specially designed fins are worn to help propel you through the water.

Seasons: Fall, Winter, Spring
Location: Evans Pool
Times: 6:45 pm. - 7:45
Games start at 7 p.m., and play is for two 20 minute halves.

Water Safety Instructor Certification

Seattle Parks and Recreation teaches American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI). This, approximately 30 hour, course includes motor learning theory and practical methods for teaching a variety of swimming and aquatic skills.
