The Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners meet bi-monthly on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Meetings are in person with a Zoom option unless otherwise noted.

Beginning with the June 12, 2025 meeting, the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners is piloting an adjustment to its regular meeting time to begin at 6:00 PM instead of 6:30 PM. Meetings will continue to be the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, but will now take place from 6:00-8:00 PM, unless otherwise noted on the BPRC website. Accordingly, written comments and requests to offer public comment during BPRC meetings must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM on the day of the meeting to PKS_BPRC@Seattle.gov. Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered for that day’s meeting.
About Us
The Seattle Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners is a volunteer advisory board established by ordinance. The Board consults with and makes recommendations to the City Council, the Mayor, and the Superintendent regarding Seattle Parks and Recreation's policies for the planning, development and use of the City's park and recreation facilities. And, provides oversight of the projects, programs, and services undertaken jointly by the City and the Seattle Park District, pursuant to the interlocal agreement between The City of Seattle and the Seattle Park District.

Who We Are
The Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners is a 15-member community advisory board, serving three-year terms. The composition of the Board is eight members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council; including four at-large members, three members from other City Boards/Commissions, and one member from the Get Engaged Program. The remaining seven members represent each of the Seattle City Council Districts and are appointed by the City Council.
