Community Budget Workshops
Join Councilmembers and help develop priorities for the 2015-2016 City budget! These four Spring Community Budget Workshops will allow you to engage with your City Councilmembers and provide your perspective and ideas about the city budget. Councilmembers can then encourage the Mayor to include recommendations in the budget he proposes to the City Council in September.
Each meeting will have a dual focus. First, we’ll focus on the budgets of specific departments as listed below. In addition, you’ll also be able to tell Councilmembers whether your neighborhood has specific needs and priorities. City government will transition to having seven district Councilmembers in 2016, as seen in the district map released last week.
After brief summaries of each department’s budget, you can highlight your priorities for city departments and your neighborhoods with Councilmembers in small group discussions. Each meeting will have three Councilmembers in attendance. The meetings are free and open to the public.
