About OIR

The Office of Intergovernmental Relations (OIR) is part of the Mayor's Executive Department and serves the Mayor, all City departments, and the City Council. Our office promotes the interests of the City of Seattle to Local, Regional, Tribal, State, Federal and International Governments. OIR is responsible for engaging with other jurisdictions and government entities to collaborate and advocate for outcomes that are in the interest of the City. OIR implements and manages all of the City's advocacy contracts and ensures the City's lobbying resources align with the City's strategic advocacy priorities.
