  1. How do I file my appeal online?

    Please visit the e-Filing page to get started with an account.

  2. How do I obtain a copy of a hearing recording?

    Audio recordings are uploaded to the Hearing Examiner Internet Records Information System. Please contact our office directly if you would like to order a CD of a hearing recording. CDs cost $3.00 and payment is required in advance of copying.

  3. How do I listen to CDs of the proceedings?

    All CDs are compatible with most consumer electronic devices. Alternatively, a free audio player is available for download.

  4. What if I have a general complaint that does not fall within the jurisdiction of the Hearing Examiner?

    Try contacting the Customer Service Bureau at (206) 684-2489. They may be able to assist in resolving your complaint.

  5. If I need to contact someone at the City that is involved in my appeal how do I find their phone number or email address?

    Please visit the City of Seattle staff directory.

  6. Is there a report on the Office of Hearing Examiner's business for the year?

    Information can be found in our annual report.

  7. Can I access case documents online?

    Most documents from Hearing Examiner cases initiated between January 2010 to the present are available to the public online via our Case File Search.

The Office of Hearing Examiner is a separate and independent office of the City created by the Seattle Municipal Code. The Office is charged with conducting fair and impartial administrative hearings, when authorized by the Code, to review the actions of various City departments.
