Data and Demographics

Age Friendly Seattle GIS Map screenshot showing locations of libraries and senior centers.Part of Age Friendly Seattle's mission is to empower people and organizations with information about our local older adult community. Seattle is home to more than 800,000 people, and 13 percent are age 65 or older. As our population ages, it is important that we understand and plan for the needs of older adults across our city.

This new Age Friendly Seattle GIS map (Geographic Information Systems map) contains information about demographics, health, socioeconomics, and other factors related to Seattle's older adults. We hope it is utilized by government colleagues, community-based organizations, academics, and others who plan programs, write policies, distribute funds, or engage in activities that impact older adults.

The data contained in this GIS map is primarily from the U.S. Census, American Community Survey. Additional data from the City of Seattle is also utilized.
