Lake City Customer Service Parking Garage Closure  

The parking garage at the Lake City Customer Service Center and Seattle Public Library branch is closed effective Friday, Nov. 17. Free street parking is available to employees and customers.  

Is accessible parking available?
A reserved parking spot, requiring a valid disabled parking permit, is available in front of the Lake City Library Branch entrance at 12501 28th Ave. N.E. Please note a ramp is not currently available at this space. The City is working on addressing this need. Please expect to wait 15-20 minutes past your appointment time to meet with a representative.

Our customer service centers accept only DS-11 applications for first-time applicants, minor renewals and certain qualifying adult renewals (DS-11 form only). You can also visit a customer service center to apply for a U.S. passport card.

Important notes:

  • For passport services, our centers only accept checks or money orders. No cash accepted.
  • Passport hours vary by location and end one hour before closing time. We recommend calling ahead to ensure your visit will occur during passport application processing times.
  • We do not accept passport applications at the Downtown Customer Service Center or the Mobile Customer Service Center.

Our customer service centers will accept payment for these items:

  • Electric bills (Seattle City Light).
  • Water, sewer and garbage bills (Seattle Public Utilities).
  • Pet licenses.
  • Parking tickets and moving violations (credit cards now accepted for Seattle Municipal Court payments).

    Types accepted
    • Parking citations (handheld or handwritten), if payment is received within 15 days of issue date.
    • Parking citations with delinquent notice, if payment is received on or before the notice due date.
    • Infraction citations, if payment is received within 15 days of issue date.
    • Infraction/parking citation payments where the amount owed can be verified by the court with a phone call.
    • Court time pay agreement, if payment is received on or before due date.
    • Pre-trial diversion payments.
    Types NOT accepted
    • Payments for restitution.
    • Payments on items that have been referred to a collection agency.
    • Payments for citations where the defendant is attempting to immediately renew a driver's license or auto license.
    • Citations and/or cases with future court dates.

Customer service center representatives can provide you information about:

  • City and other job opportunities, including the Summer Youth Employment Program.
  • Community and neighborhood organization contacts.
  • Crime prevention and block watch materials.
  • Food banks.
  • Gold cards (senior discounts).
  • Heating bill assistance.
  • Land use and zoning.
  • Metro bus schedules.
  • The P-Patch community garden program.
  • Weatherization services.

Some of our customer service centers serve as the location for the King County Bar Association's Neighborhood Legal Clinics program. The program offers free, limited legal advice and referrals to King County residents and Washington state residents with legal issues in King County who might otherwise have no access to the legal system. For an appointment, call 206-267-7070, Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Computers with internet access is available for use at our centers. Customers are limited to one 30-minute session per day.

This is not available at the Downtown Customer Service Center or the Mobile Customer Service Center.

NOTICE: Computers at the Southeast and Central customer service centers are underdoing maintenance and currently are not available for public use.
