Temporary Employment Opportunities
On-call assignments average two to six weeks in length, but can be as short as a few days or last several months. There is no guarantee, explicit or implied, of continuing temporary employment assignments.
Hourly wage rates are based on the first step of the pay range within the job classification assigned. Temporary employees are covered by State Worker's Compensation while on the job. The City also contributes to Social Security and Unemployment Compensation insurance on the employee's behalf.,

How to Apply
All temporary positions are available on the Job Opportunities page. You may submit your application only when there are open temporary positions posted.

Interview/Testing
City employment staff will review all application forms submitted in response to posted temporary employment opportunities. Applicants whose skills most closely match employment needs will be notified and scheduled for testing/interview. The testing process may include any combination of typing, data entry, grammar, software proficiency, and other applicable tests. After applicants have been interviewed and it has been determined that they are qualified, they then become eligible candidates for assignment to available temporary positions.
