Consultant Contracting Consultant Contracting Each City department awards its own consultant contracts, however, there are general City-wide selection rules with which departments comply, depending on the scope of work and estimated dollar value of the contract. The City encourages the use of women and minority owned businesses as sub-consultants in consultant contracts. Consultants may obtain information about consultant contracting opportunities with the City through the following processes: Public advertisements Consultant contracts valued at $42,000 (adjusted annually) or more (except for consultants selected through the Consultant Roster Program) are advertised for a minimum of two days in the City's official newspaper, currently the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce. For these contracts the City: · May request either a statement of qualifications or a proposal, or both, depending on the nature of the work. · Selects consultants based on established selection criteria through the use of a consultant evaluation committee. Informal selection for projects under $42,000 Departments generally use an informal selection process for consultant contracts valued at $42,000 or less, and therefore do not advertise the projects in the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce. Consultants interested in doing business with the City for these smaller contracts are encouraged to contact individual City departments to inquire of upcoming consultant opportunities. City departments and personnel are listed in the Staff Directory. City departments may select consultants directly from the City-wide Consultant Roster, for projects valued up to $250,000, without advertising the project. The Consultant Roster features numerous categories of consultant services the City uses most. Interested, qualified consultants may apply at any time. Visit the Consultant Roster Web site for evaluation criteria, application procedures, and program rules. Consultant Performance Evaluation Departments evaluate consultants on their performance using the Performance Evaluation – Consultant Services document. Contact Us
