City consultant contracting is decentralized, with each City department managing its own consultant contracts. City Purchasing and Contracting Services provides policies, processes and guidance. See current consultant contracting announcements below.
The City maintains a Consultant Roster, which City departments may use to select firms for contracts estimated to cost $296,000 or less. Apply online to be on the City Consultant Roster and see the Consultant Roster FAQs for more information.
Departments are not required to advertise contracts under $50,000 and may select any consultant for these projects. The City will advertise certain projects above $50,000 but below $296,000, instead of selecting firms from the Consultant Roster. Ads are published for two days in the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce (DJC) and on the City website. The City will require a statement of qualifications or proposal.
