Apply to the Board
Application Process
The Sweetened Beverage Tax Community Advisory Board (CAB) was established by the City Council (Ordinance 125324) to advise and make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on programs and services supported by the Sweetened Beverage Tax.
The CAB consists of 11 members who must live or work in Seattle. Members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve renewable, four-year terms in one of four position types:
- Food Access Representative
- Public Health Representative
- Early Learning Representative
- Community Representative
The Mayor's Office and City Council identify applicants through an open application process. We look for applicants who are passionate about expanding access to healthy food, expanding access to services for young children and families, improving public health by preventing chronic diseases, and centering the communities most burdened by health and education inequities.
