Seattle City Light CEO Confirmation Process 2
Larry Weis, former general manager of Austin Energy, was nominated by Mayor Ed Murray to serve as the next General Manager and CEO of Seattle City Light. Per the City Charter, the Seattle City Council has the responsibility to confirm or reject the nominee chosen by the Mayor.
Councilmember Kshama Sawant, Chair of Council's Energy & Environment Committee, will lead the confirmation review process to help the Council determine whether the selected candidate is the right choice to lead Seattle City Light.
The Energy & Environment Committee will conduct a thorough and transparent confirmation process by hosting a series of meetings to publicly ask questions of the candidate and by hosting an evening public meeting to hear community feedback about the appointment.
