User Experience

We build experiences with the goals and needs of the people engaging with City services. We believe this human-centered approach will ultimately serve the business goals and needs of City departments.

Web Accessibility

We are committed to making our digital properties accessible to people with auditory, cognitive, neurological, physical, speech, and visual disabilities.

We are compliant with current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)  External link.

We do this by:

  • Automatically testing our web pages with accessibility tools.
  • Designing and developing web patterns that have been usability and accessibility tested.
  • Including people with disabilities in our software development process.

Usability

We regularly conduct usability tests on new features that will be released Citywide.

Digital Equity

We believe a good user experience can only be achieved if everyone has access to the internet and modern digital tools.

We want to ensure all residents and neighborhoods have the information technology capacity needed for civic and cultural participation, employment, lifelong learning, and access to essential services.
