Thank you Seattle! This project is complete.
Mayor Mike McGinn cut the official ribbon on September 17, 2011 and dedicated the park.
City Council approved construction funding in the amount of $750,000 for the 13,000 square foot skatepark. The project has strong community support from the neighborhood.
A third and final meeting was held on June 22, 2009 presenting the schematic design to the community. Comments were collected from the community and considered for incorporation in the final design.

Design budget of $76,682 includes site investigations, public process,
design and administration. The total construction budget of $750,000 is allocated from the Pro
Parks Levy and the Parks and Green Spaces Levy (From which $250,000 was reallocated from
named Myrtle Skatepark site.)

Project Description
The plan for this park is to make it an innovative full service skatepark that can accommodate a variety of features and different skill levels.
The skatepark will be located in a complex where existing field sport activities (baseball, soccer, tennis), parking, bathrooms, and basic amenities are currently located. The scale of this project is expected to range from 10,000-15,000 square feet.
