Project Status

Thank you Seattle! This project is complete.
Seattle Parks and Recreation is happy to announce that construction for the Rainier Playfield Play Area is complete.

The project replaced play equipment and improved other site conditions related to the play area. The entry from S Oregon St. was revised to meet ADA standards. The badly broken sidewalk along S Oregon Street was repaired.The service access into the park from the corner was reduced in width and the play area was consolidated to the north side of the asphalt driveway. Granite benches by local sculptor John Hoge provide unique seating.

New play equipment includes new swings for tots and for older children, climbing structures, a seesaw spring toy and a variety of spinners.

The Brandon Roy Foundation contributed to the renovation of the basketball courts.

Project Description

The focus of this project is to provide access and create use improvements that provide better site circulation making the park and play area more desirable.
