Jackson Park Golf Course ProjectsLocation: 1100 NE 135th St, Seattle WA 98125 Project StatusJune 2013 Cart path and golf hole renovation was completed late 2012, grow in is underway on the new driving range grass. New golf holes opened for play March 15th, the perimeter trail opened to the public February 14th. Work is underway to prepare the site for the upcoming range building, netting and pole construction. Additional cart path work will take place spring/summer 2013. Driving RangeR. W. Thorpe and Associates with sub consultants Waterleaf Architects are working to facilitate re bidding the range building. Parks anticipates a fall 2013 construction start. Perimeter TrailParks Senior Landscape Architect Frank Robinson delivered a great design for the perimeter trail, Contractor TF Sahli delivered quality work that has been well received by the community. The Friends of Jackson Park Trail are working with Seattle Parks Volunteer Coordinator Junior Kitiona looking ahead to the next steps now that the trail is in place and seeing lots of use.
Project DescriptionThe Seattle Parks and Recreation Department will renovate the Golf Cart Paths, integrate a new double deck driving range which maximizes the number of stalls and shall be integrated into the site located on the existing 10th hole, and implement a perimeter pedestrian trail into the Jackson Park Golf Course. These projects are consistent with Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Golf Master Plan, dated May 2009. The Friends of Jackson Park Trail applied for and were awarded a $15,000 Small and Simple matching fund from the Department of Neighborhoods in 2009. The community worked with the Parks Department and Larson Casteel Landscape Architects to develop a more refined design and plan for the implementation of a loop trail at Jackson Park. ( RETURN
