Major Maintenance Project Information
Colman Pool Renovation, Pool Deck and Plaster Renovations

Address: 8603 Fauntleroy Way SW, Seattle WA 98136-2439

Current Status

Thank you Seattle! This project is complete.
After work was completed, Colman opened for the 2012 season on June 30.  Though this was a late start to the season, the community was excited to  return to the renovated facility for a swim and to kick off another summer season!

Project Description

Budget: $1,413,000
Construction begins: January 2012
Project complete: June 30, 2012

Colman Pool is Seattle’s only outdoor saltwater pool. After opening in 1941, it has seen various improvements over the years.

The last major renovation of the pool was twenty years ago. The current phase of work addresses a variety of much needed repairs on a large scale. This Phase replaces part of the the pool deck, pool gutters, and upper section of the pool shell and will install a new plaster lining to increase the life expectancy of this gem. This is a truly unique asset in our Parks system and is being saved for the next generation of Seattle youth and adults.
