City-Wide Youth Sports

Seattle Parks and Recreation's City-wide Athletics division provides diverse seasonal opportunities for youth to participate in sports in an environment that fosters sportsmanship, skills, and passion. 

Current Season

Girls Volleyball

Fee: $40
Registration is now open. Last day to register online is September 3; last day to register in person is September 11. The Citywide Girls Volleyball League provides players the opportunity to develop and solidify fundamentals skills, team play, and sportsmanship. Players may sign up at their community center and are placed on teams. There are 3 age brackets: 10-11, 12-13 and 14-17. Practice days and times are determined at the community center. One game per week is scheduled Mon, Tues or Wed from 5:30-7:30pm at Montlake, Hiawatha or Jefferson Community center.

Co-Ed Flag Football

Fee: $40
Registration is now open. Last day to register online is September 3; last day to register in person is September 11. Players learn basic skills, team play, and sportsmanship in this citywide league. Players may sign up at their community center and are placed on teams. Games are played in accordance with NFL flag football rules and field dimensions. League play begins the last week in September and concludes in mid-November.  There are 3 age brackets: 8-9, 10-11 and 12-14. Teams practice at their local community center. One game per week is scheduled on Saturdays at Meadowbrook Playfield or Walt Hundley Playfield.

Basketball

REGISTRATION OPENS noon on October 1, 2019. The last day to register online is November 15; the last day to register in person is November 22. First day of official practice is Deccember 2; first game day is January 4.

Youth Basketball for Girls and Boys (Ages 10-17 as of Aug. 31, 2019) 
Fee: $90
No jerseys from previous years allowed

Your child will learn and solidify the fundamentals of basketball while participating in weekly organized practices and games. League games begin the first week of January and run through the month of March, with the opportunity for post-season play at the end of the regular season. Practices occur at the home community center, and games (on Saturdays and Sundays) occur at various community centers throughout the city. For more information contact your local community center.     

Cub Basketball (Ages 8-9 as of Aug. 31, 2019)
Fee: $90
No jerseys from previous years allowed

Cub league basketball is organized for boys and girls ages 8-9 and includes practice times and games. For more information contact your local community center.

Spring Youth Sports - Registration starts February 4, 2020

High School Co-Ed Volleyball League (Ages 14-19 as of Dec. 31, 2019)
Fee: $30
This NEW Co-ed Spring High School Volleyball League provides the opportunity for high school age players to come together in a fun environment while improving skills. Players may sign up online or at their local community center.

Track and Field for Girls and Boys (Ages 5-17 as of Aug. 31, 2019)
Fee: $50
Young athletes in our Track and Field program will be coached and then get to compete with other kids their age in various athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing. For more information contact your local community center.

Get Ready to Play!

To participate in most Seattle Parks Youth Sports leagues (Basketball & Volleyball for example) you can either recruit a coach and put together your own team, or you can be placed on an existing team with the help of community center staff. Call for more info. For some sports (Track & Field for example) all you need to do is go into your local community center to get registered. Start practices and get ready for fun honing your skills and competing against other neighborhood community centers!
