Thank you to everyone who joined Seattle Parks and Recreation staff on August 15 to learn about the preferred schematic plan. We were happy for the opportunity to get more feedback from you and give you an update on the timeline for construction of the addition to Greenwood Park. Watch for meeting documents as they become available below.

Seattle Parks and Recreation staff thank everyone who attended the June 2 meeting and provided ideas for this exciting new park development in your neighborhood. At the meeting we showed three design options and heard what you like the most. Input results from the meetings, post meeting online surveys and other documents are available below.

Thank you to everyone who attended the February 13 meeting to review design elements and provide input on what you would like to see in the expanded site. We also thank those who missed the meeting and participated in the online survey.

The Greenwood Park Addition project is located at 8805 Fremont Avenue N, 98103. With community support, Seattle Parks and Recreation purchased the additional property in 2013 to provide additional open space for the community.

The Seattle Park District provides $463,050 for planning, design and construction.

Project Description

Seattle Parks and Recreation purchased this .1 acre site at 8809 Fremont Ave N. in 2013 to provide more open space for the growing neighborhood and expand the existing Greenwood Park. The Seattle Park District provides funding for the development of this parcel and the extension of Greenwood Park. Seattle Parks and Recreation will work with the community to design the park space. The design will incorporate accessibility features in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
