The new 2/3-mile pedestrian/jogging pathway improves park accessibility and connects the golf clubhouse, lawn bowling clubhouse, Jefferson Field, VA Hospital, and Beacon Ave. The pathway is just the start of many improvements and changes that Parks will be making to build on the Olmsted legacy at Jefferson Park. You can track the changes at the Jefferson Park Site Planning web site. A link is provided below.
PROJECT DESCRIPTIONThis project constructed a 2/3-mile pedestrian/jogging path around Jefferson Park's nine-hole golf course. The path connects the golf clubhouse, Jefferson Field, VA Hospital, Mercer Middle School, and Beacon Ave. Portions of existing sidewalks and paths were incorporated into the route. The path project is coordinated with a separate project to re-pave portions of the service drive along the north edge of the nine-hole course.
