The City of Seattle, Seattle City Light Department, seeks to engage a consultant to provide multidisciplinary consulting services on an on-call basis.

The selected firm must have a general knowledge of the overall operation of an electric utility sufficient to develop, plan, and maintain new and existing facilities, as well as specific expertise in some of the disciplines listed in the Request for Qualifications ("RFQ"). Other disciplines can be provided by associate firms.

Work to be performed under the contract is anticipated to be intermittent in nature with work assigned to the consultant as required by the City. Each assignment to the consultant will be given a written authorization. Each authorization may require services in any one or a combination of the disciplines listed in the Request for Qualifications. An office location within the Puget Sound Region is an important consideration.

The term of the contract shall extend from the date of execution by the Superintendent of Seattle City Light, or designee, to October 2000. Total compensation for the contract shall not exceed Seven Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($730,000). The contract may be extended for up to two additional years in one-year increments.

SCL will work with the prospective consultant to identify a budget and not-to-exceed amounts for each task before it is assigned.

The maximum compensation for mileage/time for meetings held at SCL Headquarters associated with the contract is 50 miles or 1 hour.

Additional information may be obtained from Chris Doerfler, Executive Assistant, telephone number (206) 684-3178. The deadline for receipt of qualifications is 5:00 PM, Friday, September 17, 1999. One original and six (6) copies of the qualifications package must be submitted to:
