The City of Seattle’s Child Care Nutrition Program (CCNP) is a sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), a federally funded program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The program helps ensure home-based early childhood education providers and Friends Family & Neighbors care providers provide healthy meals to children 12 and under. In 2021, CCNP paid participating providers for more than 474,000 meals and snacks that were served to children who attended their childcare program. In 2022-2023, CCNP is increasing access to additional produce from local and BIPOC farms through a pilot Farm to Childcare program, supported with funding from WSDA and the City of Seattle (Sweetened Beverage Tax).

Program Guidelines

The child programs sponsored under CCNP operate during the entire year. Children can receive breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack—to be eaten onsite. Participating providers can be reimbursed for up to two meals and one snack per child per day.

Family home childcare providers that have a current childcare license from the Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and Friends Family & Neighbors care providers approved by DCYF located within King County are eligible to participate. All sites continue to provide COVID-19 precautions to minimize the risk of illness while serving meals, including following sanitation and other practices in accordance with each organization's guidelines as well as CDC and Public Health—Seattle & King County guidelines.

Are my children eligible to receive a meal? 

Your children are eligible if they are enrolled in a home-based childcare program or are enrolled at a Friends Family & Neighbors care provider that participates in the CCNP program. Please click here to view a list of participating sites.
