Environmental Justice and Service Equity

SPU partners with City departments to realize the goals for the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Our goal is to deliver inclusive and equitable services to the communities we serve and to also model those values as part of our employee work culture.

SPU equity advisors throughout the utility help support and advance foundational elements of SPU’s race and social justice work including, but not limited to, the following:

Equity Planning and Analysis
Learn how we apply and analyze racial equity in Utility work using a variety of tools and resources.
 
Branch Equity Teams
Understand how we apply racial equity at every level of the utility through staff involvement, training, and leadership.
 
Women and Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE)
See how we lead equitable practices for contracting across the Utility through the WMBE Program, which strengthens economic opportunity for the consultant community.
