Volunteers caring for tree

Tree Lover? Become a Tree Ambassador!

Do you dream of living in a tree house? Do you eagerly await the first leaf buds in the spring? Do you love to lie on your back and watch branches dancing in the breeze? Does a stroll down a tree-lined street put a smile on your face? You may be a tree lover!

What Do Tree Ambassadors Do?

Tree Walks: Explore Seattle's awe-inspiring trees with your friends and neighbors. Tree Ambassadors develop fun, positive tours to engage communities with interesting or significant trees in their neighborhoods and lead their walk as a public event. Check out the schedule of upcoming walks or download one of the self-guided walks.

Don't see a walk in your neighborhood? Become a Tree Ambassador and design Seattle's next Tree Walk! We will help you identify trees, make maps, and organize community events. Join us whenever you want - to get started email treeambassador@seattle.gov.

Tree Stewardship:Help care for trees in public landscape by joining work parties to remove ivy and other aggressive weeds that damage our forest, lay mulch, and other tasks that keep trees healthy.

Trees for Seattle staff organize events and provide tools, gloves, snacks, and help. Learn more about where we work or find an event near you.

Do you have a group of 10-30 people who would like to work together to care for Seattle's trees? Contact us about bringing your group to a work party by emailing treeambassador@seattle.gov.

Being a Tree Ambassador Means:

Making a positive difference within Seattle’s urban forest

Meeting fellow tree lovers and becoming a valued part of Seattle’s urban forestry network

No previous tree experience necessary - just a love of trees!

Together we can make sure everyone in Seattle has a tree to hug.
