Annual Truck Permits - Service Zone Permit Conditions of Use
- Service Zone Hang Tag shall not be used:
- In Commercial Vehicle Load Zones (yellow painted curbs)
- In fifteen (15) minute parking zones
- In spaces designated for carpools
- In truck loading zones
- At construction sites
- Using the Service Zone Hang Tag at your own business is prohibited.
- There is a two-day limit for using any Service Zone Hang Tag unless the Traffic Engineer has approved a period in excess of two days.
Using a passenger-type vehicles is prohibited. - Full-sized station wagons with truck license plates are allowed, provided the rear passenger seats have been removed and replaced by racks, and the name of the company is permanently affixed to both sides of the vehicle in letters a minimum of two inches high. Magnetic or paper signs are not permitted.
- Occupying spaces for a purpose other than the rendering services to adjacent buildings, such as eating or engaging in other personal business, is prohibited.
- While using the Service Zone Hang Tag, the permittee shall place the Service Parking Permit on the dashboard of the vehicle so that it is clearly visible through the front window of the vehicle.
- The parking space occupied shall be within two blocks of the work location.
Indemnification: The permit holder agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Seattle, its officials, officers, employees, and agents against: (1) any liability, claims, causes of action, judgments, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, resulting directly or indirectly from any act or omission of any permit holder, anyone directly or indirectly employed by them, and anyone for whose acts or omissions they may be liable, arising out of the permit holder's use of the public right-of-way; and (2) all loss by the failure of the permit holder to fully or adequately perform, in any respect, all authorizations or obligations under the Permit.
