About

Ravenna-Eckstein Community Center is a busy center located north of the University District, and east of Green Lake, half a block from NE 65th St.

The most recently built section of the facility was completed in 1986, attached to the existing Ravenna Elementary School building. The new part of the building includes a lobby and full-size gym. Most of the programmable rooms are part of the school. The center also includes a multipurpose room with a kitchen, stage and teen room. Behind the building is an outdoor basketball court, tennis court, play areas, walking path, playfield, and a community garden.

The center offers programs to participants of all ages. There are preschool classes for 2-5-year-olds as well as drop-in play during non-program hours. Other programs include before- and after-school care, teen program, ballet, yoga, karate, orchestra, fitness classes, and summer day camp.

Ravenna-Eckstein Construction Alert

Seattle Parks and Recreation is improving public and staff access at Ravenna Eckstein Community Center. The improvements are based on Federal, State, and Local requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The work includes upgrades to the bathrooms, kitchen, and multipurpose room as well as site paving.  This work will require the larger play area to the west of the community center and the west entrance to the community center be closed for safety reasons.

The work begins in mid-September and is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.

We will work with the contractor to minimize construction impacts to the center, however, there will be minor disruptions to access and use of the center during construction.
