Code Corrections

Some of Seattle's different codes and supporting material.
"Clean-up" code amendments to correct errors, incorrect cross-references, and clarify the existing code.

What Is Happening Now?

City Council has passed Code Correction legislation (commonly referred to as the Omnibus). Please visit our project documents page to read the updated regulations and related documents.

The ordinance includes amendments to the Land Use Code (Title 23) and related land use regulations in Chapters 3.58, 22.202, and 25.11 to clarify and improve various regulations. Our proposed amendments generally include “clean-up” amendments that correct inadvertent clerical errors and incorrect cross-references, and clarifies existing code language. Residents, elected officials, and City staff helped identify the amendments.

Project Benefits

The ordinance:

  • Clarifies regulations to be consistent with the City Council’s original intent
  • Provides consistency and predictability for neighbors and permit applicants
  • Corrects inadvertent clerical errors and incorrect cross-references, and clarify existing Code language

The End Result

City Council adopted the code correction legislation in early 2017.
