Contact Civil Service Commission staff with questions about the employee grievance process or filing an appeal with the CSC.
We encourage you to get in touch as soon as possible, because the grievance and appeal processes have strict deadlines that must be met or the grievance or appeal will not be considered timely. Extensions are not generally granted.
HOW TO FILE AN APPEAL/DOCUMENT
At this time, forms/documents may only be filed with the CSC by email. Pease send your signed or electronically signed .pdf sent via email to the Executive Director Andrea.Scheele@seattle.gov and Cc: Executive Assistant Teresa.Jacobs@seattle.gov. If you cannot email a .pdf, please send your appeal via US Postal or fax and email staff that you mailed your document to the CSC office.

APPEAL FORMS
- Appeal Form (Adobe fillable form) Appellants are encouraged, but not required to utilize this form to file their appeal. If you do not wish to use the form, email the Executive Director Andrea.Scheele@seattle.gov and Cc: Executive Assistant Teresa.Jacobs@seattle.gov, with a concise statement of the reason for appeal.

POLITICAL PATRONAGE COMPLAINT FORM
Pursuant to Art. XVI of the City Charter and SMC 4.04.250.K.4, the Civil Service Commission are authorized to investigate and issue findings regarding allegations of political patronage in the hiring process for any candidate for City employment.
