About

Meadowbrook Community Center is an oasis for recreation, serving a very diverse section of northeast Seattle, just south of the Lake City neighborhood. Meadowbrook Community Center and the adjacent Meadowbrook Pool are neighbors with Nathan Hale High School and Jane Addams Middle School.

The current community center opened its doors in 1996, replacing a much smaller building that was attached to nearby Nathan Hale High School and is now known as Meadowbrook Teen Life Center. The new center features a large, welcoming lobby that is filled with natural light and adorned with a number of art installations. Along with a full-sized gym, the large multipurpose room is the centerpiece of the facility and is used for a wide variety of classes and public events. Other rooms include space for preschool and grade school-aged programs, teen programs and a fitness room. The center is surrounded by fields used for a wide variety of sports, including baseball, football, soccer, track and softball. Nearby are tennis courts and one of the most popular kid's play areas in northeast Seattle.

People of all ages can be found recreating simultaneously at the center at any given time. Meadowbrook Community Gardens and Orchard are located onsite, which are part of Seattle Parks and Recreation's Good Food Program. Lifelong Recreation (senior) programs are very popular at Meadowbrook as are youth sports programs.
