Sister City since 1991

The Seattle-Kaohsiung Sister City Association has created a strong partnership between Seattle and Taiwan for decades. They host the annual International Culture Show and participate in Kaohsiung International Dragon Boat Competition. Seattle-Kaohsiung Sister City Association is active in the local dragon boat community and participates in traditional races at Lake Union and Lake Washington.

Facing Taiwan Strait on the west and Bashi Channel on the south, Kaohsiung is a beautiful and modern metropolis located in southern Taiwan as well as the second largest city of this island country with a population of almost 2.8 million. Kaohsiung is home to Chai Mountain, Banping Mountain, the Love River, and Dongsha Atoll National Park. The Port of Kaohsiung in an international hub and ranked No. 13 in container volume for cargo from all over the world.
