Federal Relations

The Federal Relations Director handles day-to-day management of the City's federal priorities with Washington state’s Senators and Representatives, other members of the House and Senate, the White House and other federal agencies. OIR coordinates with city departments to ensure the City's' positions and priorities are communicated to key federal elected and appointed officials.

The City of Seattle engages with the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the National League of Cities, other large urban cities around the country, and other national associations to lobby Congress and the Administration on issues of mutual concern.
