2021 Prenatal-To-Three Community Grant Program

Request for Investment

This opportunity is expected to reopen on August 31, 2022. The information below applies to the 2021 grant opportunity.

The Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) is accepting applications to the Prenatal-to-Three Community Grant Program now through October 6 from groups interested in providing prenatal-to-three supports for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), immigrant, refugee, low income, and English language learning communities.

Approximately $1.45 million dollars is available for this grant program with up to $150,000 available per awardee. The funding process is competitive and managed by DEEL. Currently, this opportunity is only funded for the 2021 grant cycle.

This investment is intended to increase kindergarten readiness and reduce the disparities in outcomes for young children and families based on race, gender, or other socioeconomic factors. The program intends to accomplish this by supporting community informed proposals that address obstacles contributing to these disparities. These include providing families access to critical resources and services, supporting healthy and equitable births, increasing parental health and well-being, strengthening nurturing and responsive caregiver-child relationships and supporting optimal child health and development.

To be considered for funding, eligible applicants are invited to submit a complete the grant application by  Wednesday October 6, 2021 at  11:59 p.m. DEEL will notify successful applicants by Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
