About

The grassy non-lifeguarded beach is surrounded by an old stone wall, which marked the shoreline before 1917 when the lake level was lowered nine feet by the construction of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. There is enough room for a volleyball net above and quiet picnics and sunbathing below. (Excerpt from Enjoying Seattle's Parks by Brandt Morgan)

Proposed Supplemental Use Guidelines

The Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners will hold a briefing and public hearing regarding proposed supplemental use guidelines for Denny Blaine Park on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Please see the Proposed Supplemental Use Guidelines for Denny Blaine Park, and see additional information on the agenda for the May 23 meeting on the Board of Parks and Recreation Commission website.

Provide comments on the proposed guidelines from May 16 until June 6, 2024.

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) has determined that Denny Blaine Park Supplemental Use Management Guidelines do not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement is not required under RCW 43.21C.030(2)(c). This decision was made after a review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with SPR. This information is available to the public on request.

The Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) was issued on May 20, 2024, under 197-11-340(2). The lead agency, Seattle Parks and Recreation, will not act on this proposal for 14 days from the date of issuance (May 20, 2024).

Download the DNS here for more information.

Written comments must be submitted to David Graves at David.Graves@seattle.gov by June 4, 2024.
