<h3>Project Purpose and Background:</h3>
<p><br />In 2024 and 2025, SDOT studied parking and conducted outreach in the Ballard Blocks area because on-street parking was consistently very full. Ballard Blocks is a busy retail center, which leads to high parking demand. The study showed that on-street parking was over 90% full during midday, even though nearby garages had hundreds of open spaces. To better manage curbspace and improve access for customers, visitors, and deliveries, SDOT made several curbspace changes in June 2026. These included changing time‑limited parking to paid parking, adding new time‑limited parking, and installing new load zones and disabled parking spaces. <h3>Curbspace Changes:</h3>
<p><br />In June 2026, SDOT made changes on the below streets in the Ballard Blocks area:</p>
<ul>
<li>New 2-hour paid parking, load zones, and disabled parking spaces on:
<ul>
<li> NW Ballard Way from 15th Ave NW to 14th Ave NW (north and south sides)</li>
<li>NW 46th St from 15th Ave NW to 14th Ave NW (north and south sides)</li>
<li>14th Ave NW from NW Ballard Way to NW 46th St (west side only) </li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>New 2-hour time-limited parking, load zones, and disabled parking spaces on:
<ul>
<li>15th Ave NW from NW Ballard Way to NW 46th St (south side only)</li>
<li>14th Ave NW from NW Ballard Way to NW Leary Way (east and west sides) </li>
</ul>
</li>
