Description:
This selection of river birch is resistant to the bronze birch borer, thus being a great replacement for birches being killed by this insect. It has a pyramidal, upright habit. Glossy, light green leaves turn yellow in the fall. The peeling bark is a mélange of cream, orange, and salmon colors.

Great tree for your yard or in a planting strip without overhead power lines. Perfect as a replacement for birches that are being killed by bronze birch borer.
Leaves:
Lustrous medium to dark green diamond shaped leaves with doubly toothed margins turn yellow in fall.
Preferred Site Conditions:
Full sun. Adaptable to a wide range of soils. More tolerant of heat and drought than other birches. You still need to water it frequently when establishing it.
Potential Problems:
Resistant to the bronze birch borer. No serious pests.
